Who We Are

EVOLVE! is a non-profit organisation dedicated to embracing and expanding the vision of animal liberation through promotion of lifestyle changes that in turn benefit human health and the environment, as well as the lives of millions of exploited animals worldwide.

Our campaigns focus on educating the public about the many benefits of a plant-based diet and vegan lifestyle, with the aim of stimulating a more responsible attitude towards our planet. Ultimately we are seeking an advancement of ethics through encouragement of a more considerate and evolved regard for animals; thus elevating the human race as a whole.

We produce animal-free recipe sheets and offer tips on healthful cooking. We also provide educational talks on health and nutrition, do street stalls with free food giveaways and offer cookery demonstrations in the South of England area. Other activities include distribution of literature to increase awareness and ultimately reduce animal suffering, as well as an ongoing project to develop more widespread ethical eating habits by promoting vegan food alternatives in schools, hospitals and restaurants. We also fundraise to directly benefit animals in need.

Meet the EVOLVE! Team:

James Gorman, Director
James is a retired spinal specialist and has first-rate knowledge of the human body, having also taught anatomy and physiology for many years. He now lectures internationally on the nutritional benefits of a plant-based diet, in colleges and Universities, and does regular talks on advanced nutrition for personal trainers, bodybuilders and athletes here in the UK. James has been a compassionate vegan for most of his life and explains in his own words why he is vegan: "I am vegan for one simple reason and that is the cruelty and violence that is inflicted upon animals at the hands of human beings. I don't want to be a part of it and I certainly don't want to fund it. While the health benefits of veganism are many, they are to me merely a bonus as I would choose a compassionate plant-based diet even if it was as unhealthy as eating meat and dairy."

If you have any specific questions about health, fitness and nutrition, particularly relating to a vegan diet, you can contact James personally at:

Rolanda Bellairs, Director
Rolanda has a background in food creativity and graphical design and also has experience in vegan catering and fundraising for animals in need. She organises food events, devises recipes and enjoys showing how delicious and versatile a plant-based diet can be through cookery demonstrations and vegan cake give-aways. Rolanda is also responsible for producing a variety of colourful campaign material and explains in her own words why she is vegan: "I believe that being vegan is the most morally responsible, respectful and progressive thing any of us can do for the lives of animals, our own health and the future of our planet. I have never looked back since I made the informed choice to stop contributing to animal exploitation. Making the change to a cruelty-free lifestyle is not difficult these days and the rewards are huge."

David Fricker, Technical Director
David has over 13 years' experience of designing and implementing computer systems, databases and web sites, and is a Microsoft Certified Solution Developer. He has been vegan for almost 20 years and can't remember a time when he wasn't passionate about animals. If you have any specific questions or comments regarding this web site, or your own IT requirements (including free web sites/hosting for non-profit organisations), you can contact David personally at:

Chris Bellairs, Youth Contact
Chris has been vegan since he was a young child and has experience of campaigning against animal cruelty as well as first-rate knowledge about the best vegan food to eat, especially the best chocolate brands - he's tried them all - and cake! He says he loves all animals which is why he doesn't eat them and knows that he'll be vegan for life. "Once you know the truth you can never go back". In his spare time Chris loves learning about magic, playing football, cycling, going on his Xbox and hanging out with his friends. Chris has done two extremely successful fundraisers during the past few years, one where he cycled 20 miles and the other where he roller-bladed dressed up as a chicken, raising a total of over £4,000 for two animal sanctuaries. You can watch a video clip of the last fundraiser, for Tower Hill Stables Animal Sanctuary, below.

If you have a question you'd like to ask Chris, particularly if you want advice about being a vegan child/teen in a non-vegan world then you can contact him personally here:
